Rough hip joint

Writer's picture: Dr,MustafaDr,Mustafa

The hip joint is located where the upper part of the thigh bone meets the lower part of the pelvis bone. This joint is considered one of the largest joints in the body and provides a great deal of movement necessary to perform normal activities. Due to the heavy load it carries.

The hip joint is susceptible to erosion over time, or the hip joint may be exposed to injury such as sports injuries or other causes of joint roughness, so the soft cartilage that covers the surface of the joint and which helps in the flexibility of movement erodes, leading to cracking of its surface and then gradually erodes until the surface of the bone becomes bare of the cartilage that protects it and rubs against each other, causing pain and limitation of movement for the patient.

The symptoms of hip joint roughness such as pain and limitation of movement and others may vary according to many factors, and may increase over time and increase with movement and when sitting in a cross-legged position and when climbing stairs. These symptoms may develop to become permanent even with the simplest movement in the hip joint. In addition, the patient may have a problem walking and a clear limp.

The available treatment methods for hip osteoarthritis may vary from one case to another depending on many factors, as there are conservative, surgical and regenerative methods for treating hip osteoarthritis, and it is recommended to deal with the condition early before it worsens to a stage that may be difficult to deal with.
